Whenever you truly birth into the Red Lodge of my ancestors, you will discover a vision that one day will grow to be yours. It is a vision of the universe birthing and drumming in your heart, pounding steadily with your every thought and every movement of your soul. The Red Lodge is welcoming you to touch this incredible vision of life, encouraging you to walk the passage to merit this unforgetful glimpse of beauty. You, whoever you are, whatever the color of your skin. The true Red Lodge will always be a Rainbow Lodge in essence. We are all children of the Great Spirit and have received our own inherent gifts.

These are the times to meet within the rainbow bridge of all the hoops of nations. These are the times foretold in native prophecies, when the first people of this continent will share their ways and encourage people to undertake the journey toward healing their own race. Now more than ever, people of all colors are entering the Red Lodge with a genuine desire to uncover theirs, to discover something purer and closer to their nature.

In entering the Red Lodge, we observe that every race and every color of people draws its essence primarily from a particular direction around the Wheel. Also, every race of people is given some inherent lessons that are translated into the meeting and the confrontation of the particular wall of each direction. The first step in meeting our Red Lodge is thus to see through your own wall and only then, free from cultural conditionings to receive more fully and grasp our ancient wisdom.

When you lean on the sacred Mother and bring your ear closer to her, you will hear the natives whispering in unison: We, the First Nations, original people of this land, of the three Americas, we are back after this long nightmare and we wish to speak of our dignity and tell our truth, the one that the white forefathers have not heard. We may have been despised and forgotten, but we are here and have not surrendered. Now we are back, for our dead have always been alive. They are buried in this very Earth, they are everywhere around you in this great continent of Star Turtle. They are whispering now in your ears and awakening you.

The ancient native teachings have come to us, sprung from an unbroken lineage. They carry the power, wisdom and introspection of wise people who, for thousands of years, improved upon them and evolved with the teachings and the careful observation of the path to life and death. My ancestors shed blood protecting and preserving these teachings at all cost, cherishing them for thousands of years with all their souls. They were often killed for refusing to forsake these teachings and menaced by conquering men of greed. For this immense suffering that we carry in our blood, the natives who held on to their traditions have earned the right to say they are the keepers of these sacred teachings. Their immense loyalty to Mother Earth has given the Red People a sacred mission, instilled in their blood, to protect and care for her very ancient ways in these Americas.

When I sit and meditate, a powerful thread surfaces from my ancestors that carries a great love for Earth from one generation to another-a love so true, so immense, and so real that it does not belong strictly to Red people, but to all children of Earth. In my quest as a native woman, I have encountered many Western people who long to reverse the principles of the Western mind-set within themselves, seeking a more real purpose in their lives.

Entering the Red Lodge, however, does not imply that you become an Indian. It means to expose and embrace yourself as you are, with all that you are, independent of the color of your skin, to be disposed to hear, to unveil to truth, to learn true courage, and to deepen your sense of spirit. You will not become a true universal and spiritual warrior if you cannot see first the wall of your own race, embrace it and heal it forever. You will never discover your essence. You may strive arduously. You may even fool yourself into believing you are enlightened, but you will still be caught in your ego and the wall of confusions, untouched.

Seeking empowerment strictly for oneself is a selfish quest. However, merging with Earth will give you a natural empowerment that is subtle, quiet, almost invisible, and will make you move mountains before you realize it. Many are obsessed by their need for spiritual empowerment. True empowerment can only be reached through acts of losing any ordinary sense of self and ego. It is only given in the realm of the great sacred dream to those who are worthy and this sacred dream from Earth is within each one of us. For real consciousness is an inner pressure that keeps you from living in self-satisfaction. It holds your heart down close to Sacred Earth so you do not forget, so you can listen to the great Vastness of the Earth with your amazed soul.
